What is on the supplemental application? What answers are you looking for?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide you with guidance on exactly how to fill out the supplemental application because we need to maintain a fair and equitable application process for all applicants and ensure their unique voices and stories are represented in their applications. But we can provide you with this guidance:
- The School will select for admission those students who not only demonstrate academic potential but also most aptly display a motivation to study nursing and demonstrate the qualities, skills and clinical aptitude most necessary to be a caring and professional nurse.
- The purpose of the supplemental application is to supplement your academic transcripts (which are a way to quantify your academic potential) with more information around who you are as a person. For example: what motivates you to study nursing, and what experiences you’ve had that will help determine your aptitude for the clinical skills most necessary to be a caring and professional nurse.
- The Important things are:
a personal statement that will introduce you to the supplemental application review committee;
a showcase of your education history, work experience, volunteer/community service work, leadership roles or activities, and extra-curricular activities (structured form provided in the application for this 'resume')
Therefore, it is up to you to decide exactly how you wish to write your personal statement, and how you want to represent so it captures your unique skills, experience and drive to be a nurse.
