Practice Midterms and Finals (midterm 2)

Here is where I will put old midterms and finals for you to practice on. These are mostly from math 200/253 (multivariable calculus) and math 317 (vector calculus). As you know math 217 is a combination of those courses. There are a handful of topics which are covered in those courses which are cut from math 217 and so there a few problems here and there on these midterms which you can ignore. I will try to annotate all of the exams below to let you know which problems are relevant.

Second Midterm details:

The second midterm will take place Nov 23rd from 9:30 to 11:00 am.

Time will be provided at the end to upload written pages.

Students with official time accommodations from CFA will have their time adjusted accordingly.

Calculators will not be allowed.

Topics for the second midterm:

Double integrals, switching order of integration

Double integrals in polar coordinates

Applications of double integrals (surface area, center of mass)

Triple integrals in Cartesian, Cylindrical, and Spherical coordinates

Integrals of functions over curves.

Integrals of vector fields over curves (work integrals).

Conservative vector fields (when is a vector field conservative, properties of conservative vector fields, finding a potential function).

Fundamental theorem of line integrals.

Parameterized surfaces.

Integrals of functions over surfaces.

Integrals of vector fields over surfaces (flux integrals).

Material which was tested on the first midterm is still fair game!

The following should be helpful for practice for the second midterm. Some time soon I will annotate all of these with notes as to which problems are from the relevant material and which problems can be ignored. In the mean time use your common sense! There will be some problems about material which is not covered in 317.
