K2A Field Guide Tools
When you leave the course, you will be confident in deploying the following seven K2A tools. Together, they offer the foundations for a "Field Guide" to support your design of successful K2A strategies, as recommended by Contandriopoulos et al. (2010).
1. Haidt’s Elephant & Rider Tool to remember that evidence is not the primary factor driving human decisions
2. Ganz et al.’s Tool to Map the Power Landscape to ensure a strong analysis of power informs the development of your K2A strategy
3. Ganz et al.’s Theory of Change Tool to avoid busy work by ensuring your K2A strategy is guided by a clear and compelling hypothesis about how the evidence will come to be implemented -- one that doesn't simply assume that "if you put the evidence out there, then people will adapt what they are doing, because people are primarily influenced by evidence."
4. Ganz et al.’s Tool to Plan a Kickoff Activity to plan the incremental steps by which you will implement your theory of change.
5. Haidt’s Moral Taste Buds Tool to guide your communications with target audiences.
6. Ganz’s Public Narrative Tool to guide your communications with target audiences.
7. Sachs’ Basic Training in Empowerment Marketing to guide your communications with target audiences.
