Task
Create an engaging 75 minute lesson for high school students to address at least one misconception from the following units:
- States of matter
- Particle theory
- Changes of state
- Distinguishing between elements
- Compounds and mixtures
- Physical and chemical change
- Acids, bases, and neutralization
- Stoichiometry
- Chemical bonding
- Thermodynamics and chemical equilibrium

- Reflection of lesson and recommendations
Part 1: Lesson Plan Draft (due in Week 10)
Create a three-part lesson plan to address a misconception or misconceptions from one of the above units. Your lesson MUST include:
- A brief comment about your high school students
- Learning goals
- Lesson outline and activity flow
- Misconception(s) addressed
- Strategy used to identify and mitigate the misconception(s)
- A brief rationale for the strategy used
- A copy of the learning objects you use
Part 2: Peer Feedback and Revisions (due in Week 11)
You have all been assigned two lesson plans from your peers. You must provide constructive feedback to each of your peers.
After you receive feedback from your peers, revise your lesson plan. If you reject any of the suggestions, explain why.
Part 3: Deliver the lesson, Reflection post-lesson (Week 11/12)
You will deliver your lesson to your class during Week 11.
Based on your lesson delivery, write a reflection that addresses:
- The success of the lesson
- The effectiveness of the strategy for the students and in identifying and mitigating the misconceptions
- What adjustments/new strategies you would use for your group of students and misconception(s)
- Your recommendations for addressing the misconceptions and the strategies you used
