Module 2 Overview
Creating activities to eliminate misconceptions
This week we will explore constructivism, constructivist approaches, and strategies to support your engagement methods.
We will have a guest presenter who will take you through a modified Grade 11/12 Chemistry lesson and share with you some strategies they use with their students.
Each of our activities will lead you into this module's main assessment: the micro-lesson and critique. This is an opportunity for you to create your own activity to identify and eliminate a misconception, experience your peers' activities, and collaboratively plan on how you will address misconceptions in the future.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Identify a variety of chemistry misconceptions and their impact on learning new concepts
- Apply a variety of active and constructivist learning strategies to eliminate chemistry misconceptions
