Course Introduction sample (with table of learning objectives)
This course focuses on the Core Competencies for Public Health in Canada (as identified by the Public Health Agency of Canada Links to an external site.) related to program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Our goal is to expand your knowledge and skills in these three areas, with an emphasis on evidence-informed practice.
You will complete two main assignments, plus supporting activities, focused on practical application and mastery of the competencies/learning objectives. The first main assignment is a paper that applies the Precede-Proceed Model to a topic of your choice (topic must be approved by the instructor). The second main assignment is a group project that involves developing an evaluation proposal for a partner organization. The partnerships will be organized by the instructor.
