  1. Familiarize yourself with online learning. Look for articles by faculty who have taught online and are sharing their experience and what they have learned. Ask your colleagues to share their ideas and practices.

  2. Make time to work on your online course(s). The more time you can invest in ensuring the course is well designed, the more likely your students are to succeed.

  3. When thinking about synchronous activities and assessments consider where your students are located. Students in other time zones and students in rural or remote environments may have not be able to engage in synchronous activities due to timing or internet bandwidth issues.
