2.8 Key recommendations
- Adopt a student-centred approach to developing and presenting your course elements. Use an inclusive, approachable, and supportive tone in your writing as well as clearly laying out how students can access resources to promote their learning.
- Break down content into meaningful and manageable “chunks” and create activities and assessments around these. Organize instructions, course content, learning activities and assessments in a consistent manner.
- Look for opportunities in your course for students (and instructor) to centre themselves, their location and the Indigenous territories they are on, as this adds to building a good online community and contributes to classroom climate.
