Review the activities you listed when you mapped your course using the Download Course Planning Tool

[doc] in Module 2. If you did not complete Module 2, think about the activities you currently have in your course. Pick one activity that clearly aligns with your learning outcomes.

Consider the following questions:

  • Does the activity include opportunities for active learning?
  • Does it allow for different types of interaction?
  • Does it include opportunities for formative and/or summative feedback? Who provides feedback, the instructor or peers?
  • Does it encourage students to reflect on the significance of what and how they are learning?

Now consider how you will revise that activity when you move it online:

  • Is the activity best suited for synchronous, asynchronous, a blend of both?
  • Can you break the activity down into smaller components?
  • What tools could you use to support the activity?
  • What will you need to communicate to students to help them to complete the activity?
  • How much time will students need to complete the activity?
  • What support do you need to create the activity? What support will your students need?
  • Are there aspects of the activity or the way you might implement it online that have equity and inclusion considerations?
