Structure of UBC 501

UBC 501 is made up of five modules that can be accessed anywhere, anytime with an internet connection.
Each module takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

Using Canvas

This course is hosted on Canvas, the official online academic platform at UBC. Your instructors may use Canvas
for both online and in-person courses. Learn more about Canvas at https://students.canvas.ubc.ca/.

You can access these modules on your mobile device by using the Canvas by Instructure mobile application.
Not all Canvas features may be available on the app, so it is recommended that you use a desktop or mobile
browser to complete UBC 501.

Navigating UBC 501

Use the "Next" button at the bottom right of each page to move from one module to another.
You may start and stop the modules at any point.
You are encouraged to revisit any of the modules throughout your time as a graduate student.
There will be a brief anonymous survey at the end of Module 5 to assess how well this orientation met your needs.
