Kaltura: Sharing Video in Media Gallery

Publish to Media Gallery

1. In your Canvas course, click Media Gallery.
2. At the top right of the Media Gallery page, click +Add Media.
   
   
   
3. The My Media Kaltura page opens and displays you (instructor or student) your own private collection of uploaded videos - if any.
   
   
   
   1. If you do not have any videos listed, or if you have not yet uploaded your video, select Media Upload from the Add New drop-down list, and follow the instructions on the Media Upload tab (above).
   2. Once you have uploaded your media, repeat steps 1 and 2, then check the box next to the video you would like to share in the Media Gallery.
   3. Click Publish. The video will now list in the Media Gallery.

Media Upload

These instructions continue from the previous tab.

1. After selecting to upload new media, drag and drop a file from your computer into the designated area, or select a file using the Choose a File to Upload button.
2. The file will begin to upload. When complete, a notice will appear indicating that the upload has been completed. Add your video name and description.
   
   
   
3. Scroll down to Copyright Permissions and click Select a value.  If the video is your own creation, select With the Permission of the Copyright Holder(s). You will not be able to share your video until you have set the Copyright Permissions.
   
   
   
4. Scroll down and Save. You will not be able to publish until after you have saved the Copyright selection.
   
   
5. The page will reload with a notice that your changes have been saved.  Scroll to the Publishing Schedule (under the Copyright Permissions section). 
   
   
   1. Select your publishing schedule - once published, it can be always visible, or only visible for a specific time frame.
   2. To share the video with your students, you need to change the selection from Private to Published.
   3. Select the course to publish the video to. You can publish to one or more courses.
      
      
6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and Save.
