Kaltura: Set Up a Video Assignment (for Instructors)
Set Up a Video Assignment
Sometimes, students need to submit media greater than 500MB to an assignment. The Text Entry submission option enables students to upload larger media files through Kaltura Media. Set up your assignment as follows.
- In your Canvas course menu, click on the Assignments section of the course and create a new assignment.
- Type in your assignment title, as well as instructions for the assignment. You may wish to include a link to the Submit a Video Assignment (for Students) page [ https://canvas.ubc.ca/courses/66705/pages/kaltura-submit-a-video-assignment-for-students ].
- In the Submission Type box, select Online from the drop-down menu, then Text Entry.
Note: You could select Online and Media Recordings. Unlike Kaltura, it is limited to 500 MB. See https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-record-a-video-using-the-Rich-Content-Editor-as-an/ta-p/1198 Links to an external site.
- Complete all other assignment settings, then click Save & Publish when ready.
