Canvas: Grade Individual Assignments/Quizzes by Student Group

Turning on the Launch SpeedGrader by Filtered Group

1. In your course menu, click on Settings.
2. Under the course details tab, check the box next to Large Course: Launch SpeedGrader Filtered by Student Group.
   
   
   
3. Scroll down and click Update Course Details.

Grading an Assignment by Group from the Assignments Page

1. Go to Assignments and then the assignment you would like to grade.
2. Under Related Items on the right, choose the group of students you would like to grade from the dropdown menu under Select Groups to Grade.
3. Click the SpeedGrader link.
   
   
   
4. When SpeedGrader launches, you will only see submissions from students in the selected group.

Grading Assignments or Quizzes by Filtering the Gradebook by Group

To grade Quizzes by student group, you will need to access the SpeedGrader from the Gradebook. You can grade any assessment by group with this method.

1. In the Gradebook open the  View dropdown menu, then select Filters and turn on Student Groups such that a checkmark is displayed.
   
   
   
2. In the Gradebook, select the group of students to filter by from the dropdown menu.
   
   
   
3. Your Gradebook will now be filtered to only show students in the selected group. Hover over any assignment column header, click the Options (3 dots) icon and choose SpeedGrader.
   
   
   
4. When SpeedGrader launches, you will only see submissions from students in the selected group.
