Canvas: Student Access Reports

Canvas Student Access Reports

Student Access Reports give a summary of which components of your Canvas course a student has viewed. For a similar but more detailed report specific to Canvas quizzes, see Viewing Classic Quiz Logs.

To view an individual student's access report:

  1. In your Canvas course, click on People in the course navigation bar on the left.
  2. Find the name of the student whose access report you would like to view and click on their name.
  3. In the sidebar that pops out on the right, click on the student's name again.

  4. At the far right or bottom of the page, click Access Report
  5. The page that opens shows the student's access report, which for each course component shows the number of times they've viewed it, the number of times participated in it (for quizzes and assignments), and when they last viewed it.

Note: The student access reports can give you a general idea of student access, but they may not record students viewing the course from the Canvas mobile app.
