Grading in peerScholar and Syncing Grades to Canvas
PeerScholar is an external tool that you need to load to view the assignments and perform grading. You can then sync the grades to the Canvas gradebook.
In the list of peerScholar Assignments that appears, click your choice.
Below the assignment you chose, click Load peerScholar Assignment in a new window.
On the Overview dashboard that appears, at the right of the screen find the Grading tile and click Edit Grading to set up grading options for your activity.
In the Grading tile, click Grade Now to open the grading interface.
The specific details within the grading interface are dependent on how you set up grading for your activity. This is a sample of the grading interface.
Switch between student submissions at the top of the screen. In this example, we see the submission from student "UBCO CTLC"
The contents of the student submission are displayed in the centre of the interface. You can view the original submission, and, depending on how you set up the activity, you can also view the revised submission.
The grading panel displays on the right side of the page. The content of this grading panel is dependent on how you set up your grading options. This is where you will enter your grade and feedback for the student.
Select View Given Feedback to display the feedback that this student provided for their peers.
At the top of the page, under the student name selector, select a peer name to display the peer review.
The peer review panel displays on the left side of the page.
The grading table displays. At the top right, click Sync Grades.
Select your sync method, then click Continue.
Smart Sync - will only send new or updated grades to Canvas
All Sync - will send all grades to Canvas
A message will display at the bottom of the screen to indicate when the sync is complete. Note that although the sync request has been sent, it may take some time to display within the Canvas gradebook.
