Surveys

By creating a survey in Teamable Analytics, you can create teams that are more balanced in terms of students' skill sets and other possible factors such as making sure that students who do not want to work with each other are not in a group with each other.

Attributes

The Attributes tab allows you to create and or use some pre-made questions to use in Surveys. They inquire about a student's skill set, such as Team management, and written communication skills, as well as traits like what time zone they are in, academic history, and availability. These will help determine the groups the program will create.

Teamable Analytics contains premade attributes that contain different questions to help evaluate what type of student or teammate. To view what the questions under an attribute look like, click the blue button on the left side of the "Actions" column. To use one of these attributes, click the green button on the right side of the "Actions" column.

This guide will help you create a Multiple choice attribute, However, there are also options to create multiple answer/checkbox attributes, an include/exclude classmates option, and a project preference option if your course has multiple projects. Select the "Multiple Choice" option, and click continue at the bottom of the page.

The "Use Existing Answer Groups" is a simple dropdown menu

Projects

The Projects tab allows you to create projects if you want to assign one project per team, ie have one team do one weekly report and another do the next.

On the "Projects" tab, click the "Create new project set" button.
Give the project set a name such as a weekly report, formal lab, or research report. And click the create project set button.
Click the "add new project" button.
Set the name of the project in the top field, if you would like to assign this multiple teams with the check box under the "project name" field and set how many teams will have this project.
Set the requirements, if you have asked about the academic history, you can set the project to have the teams have a higher GPA than average for harder projects.

Surveys

The Survey tab uses Attributes to create surveys which can be uploaded to Canvas by the program

On the Surveys tab, click the "Create New Survey" button.
Give the survey a title and add any instructions about the survey you wish to include.
Select the attribute/one of the attributes you would like to use on this survey.
Optional: If you would like to use multiple attributes click the "Add Attribute" button and repeat.
Once you have added all the attributes you need to the survey, click the "Submit" button.
To upload this to Canvas, click the green button with an arrow pointing UP under the "Actions" column.
The button used to upload the survey to Canvas will be replaced with one another green button with an arrow pointing DOWN, this button will be used to import the answers that students have submitted on Canvas into Teamable Analytics.
