Student View of Classic Quiz Results
There are five basic scenarios determining what quiz results students see dependent on the Grade Posting Policy and Quiz settings. The Grade Posting Policy takes priority over Quiz settings for releasing results.
- Grade Posting Policy set to Manually Post Grades
Grade Posting Policy set to Automatic AND
- "Let Students See Their Quiz Responses" is NOT Selected
-
“Let Students See Their Quiz Responses” IS Selected AND “Let Students See The Correct Answers” is NOT Selected
- “Let Students See Their Quiz Responses” IS Selected AND “Let Students See The Correct Answers” IS Selected
- “Let Students See Their Quiz Responses” IS Selected AND “Let Students See The Correct Answers” IS Selected AND A Time Frame is set to Show and Hide Correct Answers
Grade Posting Policy set to Manually Post Grades
If your Grade Posting Policy is set to manually release grades (in the Gradebook - this must be set BEFORE students take the quiz), students will not see their score or correct answers upon submitting the quiz, regardless of the quiz settings. They will see: “Your quiz has been muted. Your quiz score is unavailable because your instructor has not finished grading it. When your instructor finishes grading this quiz, your score will be available on this page.” To release results to your students, you will need to Post Grades in the Gradebook.

With an automatic Grade Posting Policy (set in the Gradebook), and the box beside “Let Students See Their Quiz Responses” is NOT checked within the quiz settings (as shown to the right), upon submitting the quiz, students will see their quiz score, but they will not be able to see the quiz questions and answers.
