Kaltura: Edit Recordings in My Media
Edit Recordings in My Media
- In your Canvas course, click My Media. (If you do not see My Media, please see Kaltura: Getting Started: Add My Media & Media Gallery to Your Course)
- You will see all of your uploaded recordings. At the far right of the video, click the pencil icon.
- The Details page of the recording opens. Scroll down to Copyright Permissions and click Select a value. If the video is your own creation, select With the Permission of the Copyright Holder(s). You will not be able to share your video until you have set the Copyright Permissions.
- If you would like to change the title of the video or add a description, you can do this on this page. When you are finished, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
- The page will reload, with a notice at the top indicating that the information was saved successfully. Scroll back to the top of the Details page, and click the Launch Editor button.
- The Video Editor page opens.
On this page you can:
- Collapse the left pane - this will provide you with a larger view of your video.
- Hover over your video and change the view - you can switch the main video, change to only one video showing, side by side, or picture in picture.
- Trim your video - you may wish to remove a few seconds from the beginning or end of your recording. You can also create a clip of a portion of your video.
- Select which video to display in the timeline (strip) at the bottom of the screen.
- Zoom in on your timeline for increased precision.
- When you have finished editing, click Save to overwrite your original video, or click Save a Copy to save your changes to a new file, while retaining your original video.
