Kaltura: Embed Videos in a Page
Insert Video into a Page in Canvas
You can embed a video from My Media into any Canvas area where you find the Rich Content Editor - such as Pages, Announcements, Discussion, Assignments, etc.
When you share a video with your class, it's a good idea to embed it into a page, then share the page in a module.
Create a New Page
- Navigate to the Pages tab
- Click the View All Pages button at the top of the screen

- Click the new page button and you will be editing a new page

Embed Media
- Position your cursor within the content box, then click on the Kaltura icon. If your screen is narrow, click on three vertical dots (to expand the menu) to find the Kaltua icon.
- An Embed Kaltura Media pop-up will appear. If the video is already uploaded, either to My Media or to the Media Gallery, find the video then click on the </> Embed button to the right of the video.

- If you have not yet uploaded the video, click +Add New then select Media Upload.

- Drag and drop a file from your computer into the designated area, or select a file using the Choose a File to Upload button.
- The file will begin to upload. When complete, a notice will appear indicating that the upload has been completed. Add your video name and description.

- Scroll down to Copyright Permissions and click Select a value. If the video is your own creation, select With the Permission of the Copyright Holder(s). You will not be able to share your video until you have set the Copyright Permissions.

- Click on the </>Save and Embed button at the top of the page.

- Your video will now display on the page. Save and Publish the page when you are ready.
Resize an Embedded Video
By default, embedded videos do not fill the full width of your Canvas page. Although students can choose to view videos in full screen, you may wish for the embedded video to fill the full width of your page.
- Switch to HTML editing view - click on the </> link below the bottom right of the content entry box.

- You will see the html code for the page. Within the iframe tag, find the following code (your values may be different):
style="width: 608px; height: 402px;"
Replace the values as follows:
style="width: 100%; height: 600px;"
- Save your page. Your video will now fill the width of your Canvas page.
