Zoom: Publishing and Sharing Zoom Recordings

Publishing and Sharing Zoom Recordings

Zoom Cloud Recordings can be accessed through Canvas. To enable students to access zoom cloud recordings through Canvas, the recording must be published and its viewing access must be set to 'Publicly.'

As a default, the viewing access for all Cloud Recordings is set to 'Publicly.' Cloud Recordings with a public viewing access will be viewable by anybody with the link to the recording.

For extra security, zoom cloud recordings can be passcode protected. By enabling 'Require passcode to access shared cloud recordings' in the settings of your UBC licensed Zoom account, a randomly generated passcode will be set for all newly generated cloud recordings. In addition, cloud recording passcodes can be enabled, disabled, and modified for individual recordings.

Publish Zoom Cloud Recording in Canvas

  1. In your Canvas course menu, click Zoom.
  2. In the Zoom page that appears, click Cloud Recordings.
