Welcome to the Course

Welcome to ‘Urban Forestry in the Asian Pacific Region’! This course will give you a comprehensive overview of the interdisciplinary field of urban forestry, and its application to especially the Asian Pacific Region. We are delighted to share this urban forestry journey with you, through online lectures, readings, discussions, but especially also by hearing about your experiences.

How to take the course?

In order to successfully complete the course, please make sure that you follow the instructions for each of the different course segments. Follow the structure of the course, Module by Module, and step by step. The readings are an integral part of the course, so please spend time on completing them according to the proposed schedule. Also, we often offer additional sources and readings, and we encourage you to use these for exploring the different topics in greater depth. Be curious and inquisitive, and don’t forget to ask questions of us or your online classmates when you are looking for more information, different perspectives, or when something is unclear.

How to advance in the course?

Make sure that you complete all lectures, readings, and assignments in a Module before taking the final quiz and moving on to the next Module. Read the instructions and assignments carefully, and ask for help when you need it. Also, use your peers for discussing your thoughts, reflect on different perspectives, and so forth.

What's my advice?

Being an active and engaged student who takes part in all aspects of the course, including the discussion for a, will be a major factor for your individual learning success. Also, don’t hesitate to ask when you have a question or when something is unclear. Be curious, read a lot, and see how course contents apply to your own expertise and work.
