Forest ecosystem services provide regulating, provisioning, cultural, and supporting services to the local community. Once these various types of forest ES are identified based on their monetary and non-monetary values, policymakers could make market-based mechanisms to support their provisions. However, tradeoffs exist between different ecosystem services that are available in a local community. These interactions and tradeoffs should be analyzed to identify which particular ES strongly and positively impact the local community especially on their well-being and livelihood.
