Introduction
After learning about key conservation challenges in Asia, this module introduces range of key conservation policies and adopted practices addressing those challenges. By exploring selected case studies, you will analyze the conservation policy development context related to forest and biodiversity conservation, its implications and evaluate its effectiveness through various case studies. First, you will start with conservation governance, shift in conservation governance, its causes and consequences for forest and wildlife conservation. Then, forest restoration policies and practices along with in-depth analysis of their effectiveness will be discussed to address deforestation and socio-economics issues across Asia with selected case studies. Further, you will also learn about market based policies and practices such as forest certification and REDD+ to address deforestation and biodiversity conservation in Asia. Finally, you will discuss about key global policies and practices to address conservation issues in Asia and beyond. By doing this, you will have opportunity to break new intellectual ground in the delivery of conservation policies in the changing context.
