In this final module, you have learned about evidenced based policy making process related to forestry and conservation through case studies analysis from different jurisdictions in Asia. As you may realize, analyzing values and interest and power relation in decision making is a key at each stage of policy making as well as evaluating them. This is even more important for forests and conservation, in which diverse stakeholders from local/indigenous people to powerful industry has their own interest and power dynamics. Other important skills, you have learned in this module is key tools and best practice frameworks such as DPSIR and SES to analyze critical evaluation of ecosystem and threatened species’s conservation policies and actions ranges from endangered species conservation to reduce deforestation and climate change using various case studies. Through this comprehensive analysis, we hope you will be able to use these tools and frameworks to analyze complex socio-environmental relationship and synthesize those information to analyze and create effective conservation policies and actions to address key global issues.
