Topic Overview
This tropic introduce the concept of market based conservation policies and practices, why and how they evolved including its impact. Particularly, you will learn about forest certification, dominant forest certification processes, its trend globally as well as in Asia and it’s evaluate its effectiveness for sustainable forest management. Development of national forest certification in China will be introduced along with analysis of its impact. Moreover, you will also learn about forest carbon market particularly “reduction of emission from deforestation and degradation of forest, commonly known as REDD+. You will discuss how and why this is evolved along with its impact including challenges and potential solutions with selected case studies from Asia.
