Course Site Tour

This page will serve to provide an overview of the course structure about what you can expect to do week in and week out.

The Course Website

Most of what you will need for the course will be found in four places:

  1. The Home page has a lot of the basic information for the course, such as the instructor and TA contact information, links to the course orientation, syllabus, and assessment descriptions, links to student support and resources, and the list of topics we will explore over the 13 weeks. We will cover one topic per week.
  2. The Modules tab is where you will be able to find all of the course material, including readings, fundamental concepts, quizzes, and assignments arranged into weekly modules.
  3. The Discussions tab is a shortcut to the index of all the discussion forums in the course, with both non-graded and graded forum activities.
  4. The Assignments tab is where you will be able to find the entries for all graded activities and assignments in the course.

For most weeks, the general structure for a learning topic will be as follows:

  • Topic introduction and learning outcomes
  • Fundamental topics
  • Self-check quiz
  • Supplementary readings
  • Online discussion and graded assignment
  • Topic summary
  • Self-review reflection

Where to Get Started

The 'Modules' page is a great place to see where we are at and where we are headed.

Please post any questions you may have in the general discussion board. The teaching team will reply within 24hrs, allowing others to benefit from Q&As as well. You can also use Canvas Inbox to email your Instructor(s)/TA(s) for help with anything related to this course. Find all contact information on Home page.

Kick off this course by going over the Syllabus which provide you with all the information needed to get started and post your self-introduction on the discussion board!
