This module provides a brief introduction to plantation forestry. It also discusses silvicultural regimes, especially enrichment planting, that are intermediate between natural forest management and plantation forestry.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module, you should be able to:
Describe some of the costs, benefits, and risks of artificial regeneration.
Recognize the importance of high quality planting stock.
Assess some of the environmental concerns about forest conversion into plantations.
