This course adopts problem-based and case-based learning approaches to develop student’s critical thinking and enhance skills at finding effective solutions to restoration of degraded forest. Students are required to watch online lecture videos, read assigned readings, conduct self-reflection and most importantly actively participate in the discussion and peer review for co-creation of knowledge to integrate theories and concepts of restoration and plantation development into practice.
The course contains five modules. Each module is divided into various number of topics (ranges from 2 to 5 topics each module). Each topic is designed to provide in-depth knowledge about the specific subject related to restoration of degraded forest and plantation development. You are expected to watch voice-over presentation first. And based on this learning, each week, you are expected to complete module quizzes and participate in an online discussion and peer review that will enhance exchange of ideas and co-creation of knowledge. You will also have a mid-term and a final exam.
