Evaluating Sources: Using RADAR to Evaluate Sources
Using RADAR to Evaluate Sources
RADAR is one framework that you can use to explore and question the sources you are using to meet the context of your assignment or information need.
RADAR stands for:
- Rationale
- Authority
- Date (or Currency)
- Accuracy
- Relevance
Within each of these, you can use a series of questions that can help you explore your sources for their appropriateness for your use. Over the next five pages, we will explore each of these terms in more detail, and how you can consider them when evaluating your sources.
This video introduces RADAR and questions you can ask for each aspect.
