Hi everyone!

Soccer, also known as European football is the most followed contact sports in the world. A game of soccer constitute of  twenty two players, eleven on each team. The level of competition in this sport varies. Factors such as venue, intensity and skill level among athletes affect its popularity. Most ultras of soccer are found in  continental Europe, South America and Africa. Soccer is not typically a North American sport, however, as a local of Vancouver, I support Vancouver Whitecaps which competes in Major League Soccer. The famous national leagues include: English premier league, Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A and French league 1. I am a soccer enthusiast; I spend most of my weekends watching European football, particularly, the English premier league because I am an avid Arsenal football club supporter. I started playing soccer when I was little. This is because I grew up in an adverse socio-economic environment. Soccer was a mean of distressing as well as distraction from mischief.

The advanced soccer leagues including the aforementioned have modern stadiums which are protected from adverse weather conditions, however, the amateur and semi-pro league matches are mostly played in open field/park(s). A good example is the Vancouver Metro Soccer League. In my own experience, a good number of games, especially in winter, have had to be cancelled due to heavy snow and downpour. I experienced this while registered with Vancouver Snipers soccer team in Vancouver Metro Soccer League.

My ePortfolio will be discussing the weather hazards associated with playing outdoors soccer,  it will also share some useful resources that can be beneficial to you and prevent you from getting any injuries.
