Aviation Weather Web Site (AWWS)

Aviation Weather Web Site

This Canadian data site is relatively useful for pilots and provides a variation of current forecasts and conditions that a pilot can consider before taking their planned flight route.

Services on this site include: METARs and TAFs

METAR - Aviation Routine Weather Report

METARs are very useful for current weather that has been observed at airports nearby. Pilots can receive METARs via radio and these are reported by the hour.

TAF - Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts

TAFs forecast upcoming weather and are commonly read by meteorologists or through computer simulations which predict the atmospheric weather.

Government of Canada - Aviation

https://www.weather.gc.ca/model_forecast/aviation_e.html

This link provides useful information of obscurations relating to icing and volcanic ash. It shows a list of dates following volcanic eruptions and regions where hazards may be present. It also has forecast maps for specific volcanos that you can view.

Air Canada - Daily Travel Outlook

https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/flight-information/daily-travel-outlook.html#/

This link is useful for passengers to update themselves on weather conditions for their flight. I think it is important to try and utilize weather information to make your on inferences on whether or not flights will be delayed by looking at these weather updates for yourself
