Semper Solaris is a veteran-owned solar company based in California with deep military roots. Besides high-quality residential solar panel installations, Semper Solaris provides various residential services, including battery storage, air conditioning, heating, and roofing. The company understands the importance of supporting and giving back to the community. This is why they started the Semper Solaris Scholarship in 2019, which helps fund the education of college and high school students who demonstrate their passion for the future of renewable energy.

Semper Solaris Scholarship details

Eligibility Criteria for College and High School Students

This scholarship is not open to international students. You will need to meet the below criteria to be eligible to participate in it.

  1. GPA Requirement

College students must have a cumulative GPA of a minimum of 3.0 on a 4-point scale. Similarly, High School students also need a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale.

  1. You must be enrolled.

All applicants should be enrolled full-time at an accredited high school, college, university, or military academy. Community college students and home-schooled students are also eligible.

  1. All applicants should be permanent legal residents or U.S. citizens. International students cannot apply for this scholarship.

Essay Requirements for College and High School Students

An essay on a given topic is required to be submitted. College students need to submit an essay on the topic - "How can solar and renewable energy help local communities?". The essay should be well-articulated, free from spelling mistakes, and be at least 1000 words. You should also cite your sources where applicable. High School students need to submit an essay on the topic - "How do you see Solar Power changing our country in the future?". The minimum word requirement for them is 750.

Prize Money and the deadline for submission

Since the scholarship contest is held every quarter, the deadline varies. College Students get a chance every quarter to win a top prize of $3000/2nd prize of $1750.
