Class Participation

The course pedagogy anticipates active participation in all seminars throughout the semester is an expectation of the class.  Class participation will contribute 20% to the final grade for the semester.

Students will be expected to make meaning of key concepts from assigned readings, raise questions and provide thoughtful support and/or critique for those concepts.

Students will be expected to apply concepts and issues being presented in relation to their own research interests and/or selected case studies on which they work throughout the semester.

Students will be expected to prepare for and participate in a variety of exercises that facilitate their applying course concepts to case studies, presenting these in class, and providing constructive peer feedback in response to presentations from other classmates. This will include presenting drafts of Assignments 1, 2 and 3 in advance of their due date.

Course participation will be eavluated in keeping with the general rubric presented in the Approach to Evaluation.
