2.3.2 Note on Assessment
We have invited you to think about how you could create more inclusive opportunities for student participation in your class. Participation is only one way that we assess students’ engagement with course materials, and their command of the learning outcomes.
Similarly to what we see with participation, different methods of assessing student performance reward different forms of learning and engagement. Inclusive teaching recognizes these differences by ensuring that students have multiple ways of demonstrating their progress, learning, and competency in the course content.
In this way, using multiple forms of assessment allows diverse students to succeed.
