Welcome to BIOL 434 and BIOL 509!

This is the canvas page for BIOL 434 and BIOL 509, for Fall 2020. These two courses meet together.

This term, the course will be held entirely online. Lectures will be done on Zoom via the link in Canvas at the regularly scheduled times (11-12:20 Pacific time, Tuesday and Thursday). Hopefully lectures will be recorded for later viewing options.

Most of the background information for this course is available at its web-page. Please look there for practicalities, old exams, office hours, etc.

The overheads that I will use during class are available for download ahead of time in PDF form.

The textbook for the course is a freely available book by Professor Graham Coop. The version I'll refer to in class is available here. For the most recent version, click the "Download" button from this github site. Links to an external site.

The midterm will be in class (over Zoom) on Oct. 29. There are old midterms on the course website for inspiration and practice.
