The focus of Module 1 is on 'play', with specific attention on discussing play in relation to human development, and on play that expends energy, demands the execution of motor skills, and facilitates one's health status. Before starting the content material for Module 1, reflect back on your own play experiences in the childhood years by completing the Module 1: Pre-Module Survey (link provided below).
Things to Know:
- There are no right or wrong answers to the questions because you are answering the questions based on perceptions of your own experiences.
- This survey should take you no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
- This pre-module task will go towards your individual participation mark in the course; therefore, you will be requested to enter your name and student ID at the start of the survey.
- When you have completed and submitted your survey, you will have the option of downloading a pdf of your responses. Download the file and save on your computer so that you have a copy of your work. Saving a copy will allow you to look back at your answers and think more about them in the context of the course.
- As part of our class discussions in the course, your instructor will summarize student responses to this survey. It is important to highlight that responses are only viewed by your instructor and all responses will be shown as group summaries. Personally identifying information will never be referred to in class discussions.
