Create an iPeer Event
Once you have set up an iPeer Evaluation, you can assign it to your students by creating an iPeer Event.

Create an iPeer Event
- In iPeer, click the Courses tab at the top of the page.
- Click on the course for which you want to add an Event.
- In the Evaluation Events box, click Add Event.
- In the Add Event page:
- Enter an Event Title and Description.
- Beside Event Template Type click the drop-down list then select the type of Evaluation you want to use for this Event.
- Beside Preview, click the drop-down list then select the Evaluation that you want to use. Note: this list shows Evaluations created by you as well as templates created by other UBC instructors.
- Leave items Self-Evaluation to Student Result Mode as Disabled.
- Enter a Due Date for when students need to complete the evaluation.
- Beside Evaluation Released From and Evaluation Released Until, enter dates before the Due Date.
- If you set Auto-Release Results to Disabled, then Results Released From and Results Released Until will not release anything (entering dates is still required). If Enabled, enter dates after the Due Date.
- iPeer Email Reminder is disabled. Create a "Not Graded" assignment in Canvas (Display Grade as "Not Graded") with a due date matching E above and a link to https://ipeer.elearning.ubc.ca/. This will add a task to the student Canvas calendar but will not create a column in the gradebook. Alternatively, post an announcement with a link to iPeer.
- Beside Groups, select the groups to assign this Event to.
- Late penalties are an advanced topic.
- When finished, click Submit.
