Day 2 Reflection

jigsaw.pngAs you do this discussion activity, consider what you learned in Day 2 by thinking more carefully about the balance between synchronous and asynchronous teaching in your online course. You may refer back to the following Synchronous vs Asynchronous Balancing Act's article that provides useful strategies to start thinking about the mix of synchronous and asynchronous teaching, and how they can support each other.

  1. Select a course that you are currently revising and consider the following questions:
    • How should you split your content into synchronous and asynchronous material?

    • How can you leverage asynchronous learning to help you conduct better synchronous sessions?

  2. Think about whether there is more or less work than you were expecting to develop the asynchronous materials. Are there ways for you to create asynchronous course content in a manageable way?
