British Columbia is thriving with scenic destinations all year long. However, with the summer approaching, the opportunities to go out into the nature and explore our beautiful province are endless. Due to the availability of many breathtaking (literally!) trails, one of the British Columbians’ favorite activities is hiking. The hike to Garibaldi Lake that begins a little south of Whistler is definitely a noteworthy mention for both adventure seekers and admirers of nature. Whether it be the stunning turquoise water or the highly Instagram-able mountain views, it is sufficient to say that the 18km long hike to Garibaldi Lake is every bit rewarding.

For thrill seekers that enjoy camping, Garibaldi Lake Campground isn’t much further away after making online reservations. I haven’t yet been able to make the hike to Garibaldi Lake but it’s definitely on my to-do list for this upcoming summer! However, for a longer hike like this one, it is important to be fully prepared. That includes, knowing what weather conditions to expect, what hazards you could run into, and most importantly having a checklist before you commence the hike.
