Go or not Go?

1. Is Visibility Good?

Good visibility is essential for hikers. Check the visibility distance here before going. If the distance is equal to or greater than 10 miles, it's good visibility for hiking. Also, check the fog forecast, severe fog could impair your visibility.

2. Is Avalanche Condition Good?

Avalanche usually happens in Spring and Summar (March-May). If you plan on hiking during this period, make sure to check the avalanche condition of that region. If the area you plan on going shows a sign of avalanche, even the chance is tiny, you should cancel the hiking!

3. Is there Rainfall or Snowfall?

Check if the mountain has rainfall or snowfall on that day here. Make sure to wear waterproof clothes and shoes if there is rainfall/snowfall, otherwise you will easily get ill. Wear boots if there's snowing. Also, bring an umbrella to prevent water/snow goes into your eyes or on your glasses that affecting your visibility.

4. Is the Trail Suitable for Me?

Consider if the trail is too difficult for you. Is the length appropriate for me? Will I be too exhausted? If you are a beginner, I suggest you not choose the challenging trails. Over-exhaustion could result in dizziness and coma. Start from easy!

5. Is the Temperature Good?

Check the temperature of the mountain of the day here. A temperature within the range of 50 -55 degrees F is suitable for hiking. If the temperature is too cold, you might get illnesses like frostibite. If the temperature is too hot, you might get an illness like overhydration due to the over-drink of water. Reconsider hiking if the temperature is too high or too low.

6. How is the Wind Level?

Check the wind speed and direction in that mountain of the day here. A high wind level is very dangerous, it can easily damage forestry, people, and the surroundings. Especially, it can destroy wire poles and cause danger with electricity! Please do NOT go hiking if the wind level is high! If you must go, make sure to wear windproof clothing.
