In this discussion you will be exploring how to best care for a person who is making choices that make you worried or uncomfortable. You have been given a selection of readings for this discussion. They are all about concepts of risk in health care, but each have a different focus or perspective. You will engage in a discussion with your peers about your selected reading.
Read Articles
1. First, read the article under "Everyone."
2. Then select one additional article read from the other articles provided.
3. As you read the articles consider the following questions:
- What reactions do you have to the article? Try to relate to the article both as a health care provider and a person on the other side, receiving care.
- What is the take-home message for you? What do you want to convey to others when you post?
- How might you apply what you have learned from reading the article? Imagine a situation when someone in your care makes a choice that does not match with your own sense of risk and responsibility?
