Applying your Knowledge: Team Handover Using CENTRE and SIT
This assessment uses written posts to evaluate two health care providers conducting a telephone handover. You will identify when teamwork skills are modeled and post your observations at the time frames indicated in the audio file.
This activity is graded by your instructor. The instructor will review the accuracy of your posts. Video or Audio Activities contribute 20% to your overall course mark.
Instructions:
A team handover will be presented. Tasmin (midwife) phones Riann (doctor) to discuss the clients that will be cared for while she is away. They briefly discuss Florence’s case. To conduct their handover, they use tools covered in this module: CENTRE and SIT. Post in the audio timeline when you hear the providers use these tools.
Complete this assessment by doing these things:
- Identify times to the timeline when you hear the providers model steps in SIT. For each post you will need to write what component or the tool that you identify, such as "Trust" from SIT.
- Post times in the timeline when you hear the providers model steps in CENTRE. Name the elements you identify. Most elements of CENTRE are covered except: equal airtime, and right to pass. You do not need to look for these 2 elements.
- Use these time codes for to complete the activities above. Select which aspect of each tool is being demonstrated in the timeline.
