I am no expert in hiking, but I do love being outdoors. Here are some photos I took when I did popular one-day hikes in the Canadian Rockies. They are all easy-to-moderate difficulty, family and dog friendly, and absolutely breathtaking!

Lake Louise

  • Popular tourist spot in Banff National Park as this lake is known for its beautiful turquoise colour.
  • Numerous trails that surround this lake.

Mirror Lake

    • This trail begins from Lake Louise.
    • When you reach this lake, there are a couple different trails you can take to reach different mountain peaks.

Lake Agnes Trail

    • Trail begins at Lake Louise, and as you approach the top you get an outstanding view of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
    • When you reach the end of this hike, you are not only rewarded by a lake that leading into a waterfall, but also by the Lake Agnes Tea House. At this tea house, you get to try delicious tea and food as well as house-made energizing snacks while enjoying the wonders of nature.

Emerald Lake Trail

  • The trail begins at Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park which is actually in British Columbia, but near the boarder of Alberta.  It leads to a mountain valley with a large stream running through it.

Peyto Lake Panorama Overlook

  • This is by far my favourite hike in Banff National Park, and anyone else who has been here would probably say the same. It is a short trail with an elevation of only 115m - so all the little dogs can easily do this hike too!
  • In the winter, the snow piles up really quickly in Alberta, but Peyto Lake looks just as beautiful.

I hope my ePortfolio has provided knowledge and inspiration to go on some adventures this summer.

Happy Hiking!
