Wind

Like all water sports, Jet skiing is largely affected by wind conditions. As the amplitude of the waves is influenced by the strength of the winds, it is important to avoid heavy winds when you jet ski, as they can, in extreme cases, cause the waves to sink you, toss you over or blow you off your track, or, in other cases, gave you a bumpy rough ride. When you're faced with strong headwinds, it could also lower your cruising speed while making you jump a lot, which makes your trip less fun. Generally speaking, it is easier to jet ski with tailwind than with headwind or strong sidewind, but you always have to keep in mind the wind shears at the surface level can happen any time, and you don't want to constantly struggle with the incoming waves for your whole trip! Besides, strong winds can also make it much more difficult to park your jet ski properly, which can be annoying.

When it is a windy day, it is always a good idea to jet ski in a more protected route, including rivers and lakes, than in the open sea. Moreover, cancel the trip if the wind condition is extreme. It's not fun!
