  • Check the Weather Network

- On the day you plan to play Spikeball with your friends, check the weather forecast for the general weather. Will it rain or will it be clear? Also, did it rain the day before causing the grass at the park to be wet? If skies are clear and the PoP is low, move on to the next weather resource.

  • Check the wind statistics using the real-time wind speed website

- Check the real-time wind graph to account for possible high winds. Remember to bring the proper attire depending on the wind and determine if the winds are strong and fast enough to create a bad environment for Spikeball.

  • Check the temperature map provided by the Weather Forecast

- Check the temperature and the pressure centre. Ideally, you want a high pressure centre with moderate temperatures because it means a lack of precipitation and clear skies. A low pressure centre is usually accompanied with poor weather, rain, and winds.

  • Bring the proper gear

- Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, or a sun hat if you expect high insolation based off the temperature map data. You may need a jacket if wind speeds are high and will effect the way you play. Also, in the midst of remembering to bring protection from weather hazards, bring the Spikeball set too if you are the one responsible.

  • Confirm with your friends

- Spikeball is requires 2 teams of 2, so if 1 friend changes their mind due to the weather hazards, the other members cannot play either. Therefore, have a discussion to see if they agree that the weather is acceptable for Spikeball and that everyone is excited for some upcoming Spikeball fun!
