Weather RadarLinks to an external site.: This weather radar from the Government of Canada website displays the amount of precipitation that has fallen (mm/hr) from the current time to either 1 hour earlier (short) or 3 hours earlier (long). This information is displayed using a 10 frame animation that can be paused at any time.

This resource is useful for checking if it is currently raining at the location that you wish to go (particularly if you are not already close enough to the location to be able to tell for yourself!); additionally, knowing the precipitation level from a few hours earlier can be useful for predicting whether or not any current precipitation is likely to taper off or grow stronger in the hours that follow.

The link provided displays the precipitation analysis from the radar station at Aldergrove, BC, which is radar station closest to Vancouver. Times are displayed in PDT (Pacific Daylight Time).
