Below are a few extra resources you may want to access when assessing current flight conditions and predictions. Press the name of the website to open it up.

The Aviation Weather Website

AVC is an excellent place to start predicting possible flying conditions by providing real-time data on the weather temperatures and conditions at the desired destination. In addition, it offers predictions for the level of turbulence, icing and wind that may be encountered in your flight. Yet, keep in mind this website only provides the weather predictions of the United States and not Canada.

The Aviation Weather Website

AWWC by NAV Canada reports and helps pilots detect possible flight-affecting weather conditions like thunderstorms and volcanic ash clouds by compiling a user guide for VFR and IFR pilots alike. AWWC also provides additional links attached to their website for more information.

Advisory Circular

Written by the U.S. Department of Transportation provides pilots with a complete publication of aviation weather services that inform about the ever-changing weather conditions and procedures a pilot must make to carry out a safe and thought-out flight. The article also provides other weather information, emphasizing numerical data on the chances of rain, snow and hail.

Canadian Weather Radar

CWR by the Government of Canada is a real-time weather map of Canada that detects snow and rain and provides the rainfall rate, from light precipitation to heavy precipitation. A helpful tool of this website is that users can pinpoint the exact location they desire, providing a time stamp to ensure the weather is most up to date.
