Here are a few tips for your next beach volleyball venture!

Tip 1: Wear socks if it's too hot. This may sound a little strange and counterintuitive, but socks can actually help protect your feet from the sand. Having that extra layer of cloth is a lifesaver against burns and makes beach volleyball more playable when sand too hot to stand on.

Tip 2: Bring a beach volleyball (not an indoor volleyball). Some people may not know this, but there is actually a difference! Having the right volleyball can make playing so much more enjoyable, so make sure you have the proper ball when choosing one to bring.

        - if it's raining, be sure to bring multiple balls so you can switch one out when a ball gets too wet. It can become difficult to play when the ball is too wet as it can begin to slip.

Tip 3: Don't forget sunglasses to protect from sun and sand. This is pretty self explanatory, but you can't play beach volleyball if you can't see!

Tip 4: Always bring a friend.  This seems obvious, but you can't play beach volleyball alone. Make sure you have a friend (or multiple friends) with you so you have an enjoyable time playing beach volleyball. Additionally, if you get injured, it is helpful to have someone there that can assist you or get you medical care.

Tip 5: Don't be afraid to reach out to other people and start a conversation/game! Beach volleyball is a fantastic way to make friends. People are generally willing to play with others and start a big game, and you may even learn something by playing with different people. Playing with a variety of people also helps you improve and it is always fun to go against new opponents.
